Your child is growing so fast! At that fun stage between toddler and preschooler we have Transitional Preschool! Energetic and curious, your child will enjoy singing songs like “I’m a Little Teapot” with motions, pretending to be a wild animal in the Movement Room, or playing “House” in the dramatic play area. Transitional Preschool kids love being outside on the playground where they have lots of room to run and play with their teacher.
There is so much to see and do, and teachers in this age group will start to incorporate weekly themes in classroom activity. Projects that center around things like the ocean, the color red or farm animals give your child hands on exploration to how things work and why. This is a time of taking pride in ownership; both you and your child will enjoy seeing their projects displayed in the classroom!
A child-teacher ratio of 10:1 allows for children to start learning to play together instead of just side by side. Teachers find ways of making simple tasks interesting. Whether lining up for a drink at the water fountain, or sitting in a circle to put on shoes, your child will find that following directions can be fun!
Transitional Preschool balances choice with well-defined limits, allowing your child to feel secure while giving them plenty of room to grow and bloom!
